Corporate social responsibility

Sustainability in business and supporting our communities.

At Ricoh, we are committed to contributing to both society and the environment in all our activities, and its integral to the way we do business.

We base our corporate social responsibility framework on four key areas:

  • Integrity in corporate activities
  • Respect for people
  • Harmony with society.

These key areas stem from our corporate philosophy, called the Ricoh Way. This philosophy comprises three founding principles: love your neighbour, love your country and love your work, and was coined by our founder, Kiyoshi Ichimura, in 1946.

Over the years, the Ricoh Way has consistently provided a solid platform for us to address social and business challenges. Today, it remains the cornerstone of how we do business in every country, territory and region.

Humanitarian Initiative

This humanitarian initiative was an urgent answer to the crisis in the early days of the pandemic. It was established between Ricoh Malaysia and International Medical University (IMU) at a time where our front liners in the hospitals were facing an acute shortage of face shields. The “IMU COVID19 3D Face Shields” project is part of IMU COVID-19 Initiative. Due to the Movement Control Order in force, these face shields were produced in the homes volunteers and were then donated to hospitals. The face shields were printed using two units of MakerBot Replicator 3D printers provided on loan by Ricoh Malaysia. In total 400 pieces were printed and donated to Hospital Putrajaya, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Ampang and Klinik Kesihatan Puchong.
