Kuala Lumpur, 10 August 2017 – Ricoh once again made its presence felt at the annual International Printing, Paper, Packaging and Machinery Exhibition (IPMEX 2017). The show draws on an established track record of attracting visitors from all over the world from a wide range of industries and backgrounds.

In line with the brand’s “imagine. change.” philosophy, Ricoh certainly did not fail to amaze yet again at the event, showcasing a variety of innovative products and solutions, allowing businesses greater productivity and bigger capabilities to redefine business output.

Among the highlights from Ricoh at the show included a showcase of its recently launched Pro 8200 mono series and the Pro C5200 colour series – both launched in March this year. Also featured was the brand’s commitment to surpassing boundaries with its Neon Yellow Toner and an introduction of its new Neon Pink Toner. Visitors to Ricoh’s showcase at the event also got sneak peek into the brand’s Direct to Garment (DTG) printers.

“Ricoh’s experiential offering at IPMEX 2017 focuses on office and commercial print technologies. The addition of the DTG portfolio will help Ricoh further its position in the industrial inkjet market, a market where Ricoh maintains global leadership in inkjet printhead development. With DTG solutions combined with the broad Ricoh portfolio, customers will now have the ability to more effectively deliver a broader solution set to their end users, added innovation and access to services portfolio of solutions to ultimately help them grow their business,” said Alice Lee, Chief Operating Officer of Ricoh Malaysia.

The Ricoh Pro 8200s series is a boon to print service providers in managing varied content in books and brochures, offering a greater number of production sizes with capabilities to handle more media, allowing the high-speed black and white digital print platform to enhance production capability.

The Pro C5200 series, on the other hand, features high print speeds and colour quality across a wide range of media with a variety of finishing options. It supports print-for-pay businesses, commercial printers, in-house print centres and corporate reprographics and marketing environments, in line with Ricoh’s quest to deliver highly responsive creative print.

Following a sneak peek into the technology last year, the Neon Yellow toner offers both vibrancy and stark differentiation in terms of product offering, allowing production of highly creative, eye-catching value-added print – a timely answer to the growing demand from producers of magazines, direct mail, retail and point-of-purchase markets for prints that differentiates. The neon toner range also saw a new colour addition with the vivid Neon Pink toner that contributes to an extra colour pop to the output of materials.

Visitors to IPMEX 2017 also got a sneak introduction into another one of Ricoh’s innovative products – its Direct to Garment (DTG) printer, which boast an incredibly short route from design to print, with print speeds as fast as 27 seconds! The highly productive systems enable print providers to have more flexible, cost-effective and dynamic offerings by providing high quality digital printing, ideal for promotional printing on items like T-shirts, cloth bags, hoodies, sweatshirts and socks. Low turn times and high quality helps to reduce outsourcing costs for gift shops, universities and promotional products printers alike.

“We stand behind our clients all the way. When they look good, we look good – and we have maintained this culture of supporting our clients, many of whom are leaders in their respective businesses. This is why events such as IPMEX mean especially much to us, and why we invest so much in showcasing our products here in creative ways. For instance, for this year’s showcase, our space included, among others, commercial and digital zones, a dark room to showcase our Neon Yellow offering and other dedicated corporate and application showcase zones, and one zone especially for our DTG showcase. It’s all about maintaining and building our clientele,” added Lee.

Keeping in line with its culture of honouring its clients, Ricoh also took the opportunity at IPMEX 2017 to pay tribute to its clients who emerged winners in the recent Malaysia Print Awards 2017 in the Digital Printing category.

The awards, which featured its fourth edition this year, is the only print quality competition in Malaysia in recognition of phenomenal work produced by Malaysian printers. Besides the Digital Printing category, Ricoh’s client also emerged triumphant in the Print Revolution category – a new category added in this edition of the awards. The category recognises businesses that have embraced new or unique use of technologies or employed an innovation mix in existing technology.
