Double Delight: Ricoh Announces MSC Status At 80th Bash

26 Oct 2016

Kuala Lumpur, 26 October 2016 – RICOH took two steps forward with the announcement of being awarded MSC Status at the stylish 80th Anniversary celebration party. Adding to the glitz and glamour of the event, RICOH showcased its latest innovations in the industry as Peter Wee, RICOH Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Managing Director attributed innovation and creativity as key elements in continuous solutions from the global brand in Malaysia.

“Throughout our history, we have pride ourselves in being providers of solutions through sparks of inspiration and hard work while we developed and nurtured creativity and innovation among our global RICOH family,” said Peter Wee, Managing Director of Ricoh Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

In truth, 2016 alone has certainly been a year of many ups as RICOH Malaysia impacts Malaysian consumers, businesses and community in general with a slew of concepts and efforts.

“In Malaysia, we have always felt a sense of responsibility to be a reliable solution to enrich lives and drive businesses forward. Therefore, attaining the MSC Status this year acts as a base for us to continue doing what we do best for the future,” Peter Wee added.

MSC Malaysia status is recognition by the Government of Malaysia through the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), for ICT and ICT-facilitated businesses that develop or use multimedia technologies to produce and enhance their products and services. It is also a mark of world-class service and achievement.

Throughout this year, consumers were introduced to a stunning and reliable range of lightweight cameras with the introduction of its RICOH Theta S, which has proven a useful tool for engineers, architects and landscape artists. The spherical camera puts most ordinary cameras to shame with its ability to capture 360-degrees still images and 25-minute-long videos with a click of a button and its usage was proven with a group ‘Wefie’ taken of guests at the anniversary.

Businesses were also given a lease of renewed efficiency with the launch of the Workstyle Innovation that enables businesses to access all their information through a Connected Office concept, linking a series of intelligent input and output devices to perform efficiently. Meanwhile, communities were enriched the effort to bring 3D printing to schools through hands-on creative 3D workshop sessions in efforts to inspire and empower the future generations.

Showcasing the latest developments, Drawing Digital Signage and 3D Printers at the anniversary celebrations, guests had the opportunity to have a true RICOH experience firsthand. Within the Innovation Sections, 360 Projections take viewers through an immersive environment, a virtual walkthrough powered by the Ricoh projectors. Besides that, through Ricoh Interactive White Board and an A4 Multi Functional Printer Corner with Caricature, guests received their own caricature drawn especially on the Ricoh Interactive White Board. Wherelse, Interactive White Board D6500 allows users to highlight and share instantly on presentation materials.

Under the Drawing Digital Signage showcase, RICOH's development proves to be a brand new dimension in entertainment solutions. Drawn and scanned images on paper will come to life in the digital world allowing projected images fluid movement made possible by Ricoh’s image technology which analyzes the drawing patterns and colours. Through the RICOH's 3D Printing booth, guests had a feel of how this innovative advancement gives schools, professional firms, and the manufacturing industry a creative edge.

“While we have significantly grown and improved throughout these 80 years and at the core of our innovations, the principles that have continuously stuck with us are our values and tagline Imagine. Change. – keep our imagination burning as we continue to make a change for the better. With this, we look forward to the future at being the one-stop solutions provider for all businesses and individuals alike,” concluded Peter Wee.
