Kuala Lumpur, 16 April 2014 - Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., event sponsor of the premium tennis BMW Malaysian Open 2014, continues to position themselves as the leader in office and business solutions.

The nature of tennis and Ricoh's businesses have much in common, leading to Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.'s show of support and involvement with the prestigious tournament.

“To be associated with the strength and tenacity displayed by these feisty women of the BMW Malaysian Open 2014 is always a true honour,” said Peter Wee, Chief Operating Officer of Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. “The dynamic and competitive sport reflects the environment in which we often deal with. Furthermore, the need to be precise and accurate is crucial to ace your game – a split second decision of inaccuracy can be costly on court and in business.”

In this age of unprecedented digital revolution, competition in the industry has heightened, driving Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. to power forward with newer and better solutions to complement this change.

The year 2014 will see Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. The Ricoh Group recently made waves in the international conference arena, rolling out new values and re-instating old ones through its offered one-stop solutions. One prime example is the recent 8 th APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Transportation Ministerial Meeting (TMM) – where Ricoh's solutions created a successful and well integrated paperless meeting with its one-stop solutions using the Ricoh Smart Presenter, info sharing with the Clickable Paper, projecting Digital Signage through the Ricoh Ultra Short Throw and using the Multi-Functional Projection to work together with 60 odd iPads.

“Expectations for perfection is high for an event of this scale – requiring massive and comprehensive data and communication services that is capable of withstanding high volumes of documents, information and pressure. As such, we were able to rise above the impossible, streamlining a smooth and effortless paperless meeting as we successfully controlled the flow of documents in a timely, flexible and seamless manner,” said Mr. Wee.

In line with Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.'s brand tagline, “imagine. change.”, the products and services offered affirms its strength in generating change powered through imagination.

“Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. believes that all that is formed today, from our personal lives to our professional ones, are always transformed through unique ideas, creativity and imagination. Imagination and innovation is our strategy – forecasting the future that would require change, and thinking a step ahead to simplify our clients' work while increasing work efficiency,” said Mr. Wee.

He added, “Such can be seen in our IT solutions and Managed Document Services (MDS), all work in-line to create a paper-less future office for our clients and the community by providing a seamless transaction between communication, document storage and transfers through an integrated cloud system.”

At the BMW Malaysian Open 2014, the Ricoh booth had visitors abuzz with excitement with various activities including a teaser to Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.'s upcoming products such as the IWB were on display at the booth. Activities such as the Ricoh KAMI Racer Challenge Game saw participants unleash their imagination by designing a character of their own on special KAMI paper, which was then scanned through a Ricoh Multi-Function Copier that breathed life into the characters, allowing it to compete in a rally race projected on a screen. Visitors also stood a chance to win a Ricoh Pentax Camera upon participating in the Ricoh Rally Challenge.

At Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., sharing the knowledge and encouraging others to think a step ahead has been the very essence of what Ricoh is all about, whether it is through its products, solutions, services, or even through light-hearted events such as the BMW Malaysian Open.

“Our support for sporting events will continue for years to come. Through events such as these, we hope to build a more intimate relationship with our clients and the community, to inspire one another in utilising imagination to impact a change in this world, as well as to create a better, paper-less, and well-integrated future for our clients by being the one-stop solution for all things IT, office and business. Just as precision and accuracy is the key to succeed in tennis, similarly in the business world – so is choosing the right business partner,” said Mr. Wee.
