Damansara, 27 October 2009 - Ricoh Malaysia and HELP University College proudly unveiled their first one-stop print centre, the InnoTech Centre, at Wisma HELP in Damansara this morning. This jointly-developed pilot project was first announced to the public at the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony that was held late last year.
Built at the cost of RM1.2 million by using the latest printing technology and equipment, InnoTech will serve as an incubator for digital office technology and a one-stop print centre that serves the needs of HELP students as well as the local business community.
According to Mr Lim Eng Weng, Managing Director of Ricoh Malaysia, the InnoTech Centre is different from other commercial print centres as it is equipped with the latest printing solutions and facilities that can help students and local business community to achieve more in college and business.
"The InnoTech Centre is unique compared to other print centres as it offers highly accessible printing services to HELP students and the local business community. Our innovative printing solutions and facilities enable students, business executives and entrepreneurs to realise their full potential," Lim said.
Derived from the word "innovative" and "technology", the InnoTech Centre provides students a modern print lounge and showcases Ricoh's cutting-edge digital office technologies and document management solutions. Besides these, the print centre offers students the flexible and convenient facilities such as print-on-demand and web-to-print services.
Print-on-demand printing technology complemented by perfect binding facility is also available at the InnoTech Centre; this will allow aspiring students to publish their own books in small quantities. Business executives and entrepreneurs from the local community too can print personalised marketing collaterals to impress their customers with the print-on-demand technology. Late last year, HELP student named Eugene Low launched a book on poetries by using the print-on-demand technology.
InnoTech Centre also allows busy students and the local business community to print at their convenience and save on time. With the web-to-print facility, students, business executives and entrepreneurs can easily send their documents for printing and make payment online. They collect when the documents are ready at the centre and this process eliminates the waiting time. In addition, the web-to-print facility is made available 24 hours, daily. Document delivery service will also be made available in the near future.
Lim added that Ricoh Malaysia and HELP University College will also jointly develop training programmes that will allow students to work on the printers and facilities at the InnoTech Centre, equipping and preparing them for the workforce by exposing them to the innovative printing technology and solutions as well as the real office environment.
